History Of Pilates

Pilates is exercising method that was created by Joseph Pilates, born 1880. near city Dusseldorf in Germany. Joe was like a child compliant, with bad health, he had asthma, rickets and rheumatic fever, this aims toward physical importance in activity and prevention.
Joseph PilatesHe prevailed his physical limit with exercising and  body buildingom, and he become an example of physical beuty in age of 14. He was successful in many sports, including skiing, diving and gymnastics. He create his own exercising system that he called centrology, because with exercise you activate muscle from barycenter of your body, lower stomach and pannikin. In 1912. he moved in England, and he work there as self-defense instructor in Scotland Yard. When first world war started he was prisoner like enemy-foreigner with other Germans. During the custody, he improved his ideas and he trained other prisoners with his exercising system.
Epidemic of flue came on England 1918, killing thousands of people, but not even one of his students didn’t die.
After he was released from prison, Joe came back in Germany. His exercising method had support in dance circles, especially thru Rudolf von Laban, who’d created form of dance marks that are used today. Hanya Holm many of Joshep exercise she add to here program, and they are even today part of Holm technique. When they ask him to teach German army to his exercising system,  he decided to leave Germany for ever. In 1926. he emigrated in USA. During the journey hi meet Clara, his future wife. Joe and Clara opened fitness studio in New York, sharing location with New York City Ballet.
